Concrete craftsmanship rooted in Portland since 1978
Choose your lane. We’ll handle the hard part: water.
Homeowners, builders, and right-of-way work all come down to the same fundamentals: slope, drainage, prep, and first-time accuracy.
Homeowners
Your outdoor upgrade without regret.
We’ll walk you through options, then design slope and drainage before the Pour so your driveway, patio, or walkway drains right and feels like a premium upgrade every day.
Public-facing concrete has no forgiveness. We plan slope, drainage, and finish details the way inspectors look at them so outcomes are clean, safe, and defensible.
Built like inspections are watching because they are.
Since 1978:
Portland concrete built to drain right.
Rooted in concrete work going back to 1978, Pat’s Pound & Pour was built the old way: earned experience, pride in the details, and a crew that respects the site, the neighbors, and the craft.
We’ve seen what happens when concrete is rushed puddles, slick spots, bad slopes, early cracking and the quiet regret that follows. That’s why we don’t lead with “quality.” We lead with what creates it: prep, slope, joints, and cure before the truck arrives.
Because when water is involved, the difference between “looks good” and “lasts” is planning. And the best compliment we hear is simple: “It drains right.”
Driveways, patios, walkways, new construction, storm water work — every job runs on the same fundamentals: water-first slope control, proper prep, smart joints, and a clean finish. That’s how concrete drains right and lasts in Oregon weather.
Driveways
Built to handle real Portland seasons.
We design slope and drainage so water moves where it should not into puddles, ice, and long-term regret.
Concrete is one shot. So we don’t rush you to a number before we understand the site. We start with what matters most: how water will behave and how you’ll actually use the space.
Here’s how it works:
Site Visit & Drainage Read
We walk the site, read the elevations, and spot water risks before they become expensive problems.
Plan + Options + Scope Lock
We show you what’s possible, explain tradeoffs, then lock the scope so there are no surprises.
Prep + Pour + Finish
We build the base right, set the slope right, and finish it clean so it drains right and lasts in Oregon weather.

I've hired Pat's Pound & Pour many times now for smaller and larger jobs, ranging from bulged sidewalk repair (required by the City of Portland...erg) to a slab for a detached studio, as well as stairs and retaining walls. They are awesome !

I have lived in Spain and Japan and traveled to 25 other countries. I have been in jobs in the service industry my whole life. Expecting great service is not a character flaw.
David Sideras
Outstanding service. I am new to the area so was at loss for who to call. Professional level at all points of contact. Jarrod is the best. Great price. They showed up on time and leveled the yard and poured a new driveway in no time. I have had over a year's use so far and the job will clearly last a lifetime. Use this company first for concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the site visit free?
Yes. We’ll come see the job, read the site, and talk through the basics no pressure, no guesswork.
Do you charge for estimates?
If you want a detailed plan with options (layout guidance, slope/drainage approach, finish considerations, scope clarity), there may be a small planning fee. That fee is waived if you move forward with Pat’s for the full project.
What makes you different from other Portland concrete contractors?
We don’t lead with “quality.” We lead with what creates it: prep, slope, joints, and cure before the truck arrives. Water behavior is the standard. We build for it.
Will concrete crack?
Concrete can crack over time. Our job is to minimize cracking through proper base prep, smart joint layout, reinforcement where needed, and the right cure so it performs for decades.
How do you prevent puddles and slick spots?
We design slope and drainage first, then build the base and finish for how you’ll use the space. No puddles comes from planning, not luck.
How long does a project take?
It depends on scope, access, and weather. We’ll give you a clear timeline upfront and communicate early if conditions shift so you’re never surprised.
Do you help me choose the right finish?
Yes. Most people don’t know what they want yet. We’ll walk you through options, explain maintenance and traction tradeoffs, then recommend what fits your use-case, not what’s trendy.
Do you handle driveways, patios, and walkways or just new construction?
Both. We do driveways, patios/outdoor living, walkways/steps, new construction flatwork, plus storm water catch basin work and fireplace hearths.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the Portland Metro area (.50-mile radius from area code 97206). Not sure if you’re in range? Send the address, and we’ll tell you straight.
What happens after I contact you?
1. We review your info (and photos if provided) 2. We schedule a site visit or scope call 3. We walk you through options and next steps, then you decide
Not sure what you need? That’s exactly why we start with a site visit.
Tell us what you’re building. We’ll come see the site, walk you through options, and create a plan that fits how you’ll actually use the space so your concrete drains right and lasts.
